There's nothing like taking a trip to an impoverished region to make one appreciate the opportunity that still abounds in the US. My recent trip to Central America has ushered me into a new mind frame, as a result my entrepreneurial dreams have gained more definition, not only am I striving for self-fulfillment but am now fueled by the faces of those abroad that are not afforded the same privileges.
Research shows that our current recession provides a natural time for individuals to go into business for themselves. In fact each year more than 600,000 Americans start their own businesses and nearly 40% of small business owners say the current recession is creating opportunities for their companies. With this is mind it is important that we focus on the positive, now is the time to do what you've always wanted to do... be your own boss!
